To win a set

Any set (including the 3rd and deciding set) is won by the team which first scores 15 points with a minimum margin of 2 points. In the case of a 14-14 tie, play continues until the two-point lead is achieved (16-14; 17-15; …).

To win a match

Matches will be played the best of 2 out of 3 sets.

In the case of a 1-1 tie in sets, the deciding set (the 3rd) is played to 15 points with a minimum margin of 2 points.

Otherwise, the official rules of Volleyball (FIVB) will be implemented.

Forbidden objects

It is strictly forbidden to wear objects which may cause injury, or give an artificial and significant advantage to players.

Players may wear glasses or lenses at their own risk.

Default and incomplete team

If a team refuses to play after being summoned to do so, it is declared in default and forfeits the match with the result 0-2 for the match and 0-15 for each set in favor of the opposing team.

A team which, without justifiable reason, does not appear on the playing court on time for its scheduled match will lose the match by forfeit with the same result as in the before mentioned rule.

Men’s volleyball competition

Number of teams per group: 4 (maximum)

Women’s volleyball competition

Number of Groups: 2

Number of teams per group: 4 (maximum)

The classification criteria will be by matches won and lost.

In case of a tie in the win-loss record between teams, the following criteria shall be used:

Difference in sets in favor vs. sets against during the group stage.

Difference in points in favor vs. points against during the group stage.

Total number of points in favor in all matches.

The first two qualified teams of each group will qualify for the single elimination playoff rounds.

The elimination rounds will consist of semifinals, 3rd and 4th place match and the final.

Participants must know the “Official Volleyball Rules” and abide by them.

Participants must accept referees’ decisions with sportsmanlike conduct, without disputing them.

In case of doubt, clarification may be requested only through the team captain.

Participants must refrain from actions or attitudes aimed at influencing the decisions of the referees or covering up faults committed by their team.

Participants must behave respectfully and courteously in the spirit of FAIR PLAY, not only towards the referees, but also towards other officials, the opponents, team-mates and spectators.

Communication between team members during the match is permitted.
