Rules

Due to the very limited amount of time available, the utmost punctuality is required from all players.

A player failing to report to his/her assigned match with a delay of more than 10 minutes from match start will lose by forfeit. The opponent, if present, will be declared winner.

Rules (men / women): 

Format: Round Robin
Type of Court: Clay court

All the players play each other in a round robin format after which they are ranked according to their win-loss record.

There will be no official roving umpire. Players will make their own calls with the with organizing committee demanding maximum sportsmanship and fair play from players.

Matches will be played in 1 long set to 9 games.

The player who wins the first 9 games, even by a margin of 1, wins the match.

At 8 games all, a regular game shall be played. No tie-break.

If 2 or more players are tied, with the same win-loss record, the referee or tournament director ranks players, for final standings, using the following criteria:

Head-to-head records in matches involving just the tied players;

Highest percentage of sets won among all sets played between tied players;

Highest percentage of games won between tied players.

If a tie still remains, a random drawing determines final order among remaining tied players.

IN CASE OF RAIN, THE COMPETITION WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL THE RAIN REMITS. IN CASE THE COMPETITION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED, THE FINAL CLASSIFICATION WILL BE DEFINED BY THE GROUP CLASSIFICATION AT THE TIME THE COMPETITION WAS SUSPENDED.

PARTICIPANTS’ CONDUCT

SPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

Participants must know the “Official Tennis Rules” and abide by them.
Participants must accept each other’s decisions with sportsmanlike conduct and without disputing or questioning them.

Fairplay

Participants must behave respectfully and courteously in the spirit of FAIR PLAY, towards the opponents and spectators.

 

*We reserve the right to change any competition system depending on participation and in the best interest of the tournament.
**Head of every delegation must fill in a “Legal Aspect” letter.
